House Flies are very active fliers and usually breed in animal faeces or rotting vegetable matter and their eggs are laid in these substances.
The adult flies are greyish in colour with stripes on the abdomen and they are about 6mm in length.
House Flies are known to transmit diseases to humans and their habit of feeding and resting on food products and food preparation surfaces aid the transmission of these diseases in the home. Preventing entry to flies or killing flies when they enter the home is therefore very important.
